This is one of the most dramatic scenic metropolitan bus terminals (road interchange) in Africa with interstate wing facilities on the right, Intracity wing facilities on the left while intercity wing’s centrally located. Lokoja which is the largest city in Kogi State can now boast of an international standard bus interchange and excellent bus services. The location of this exceptional metropolitan interchange is on the expressway that connects the capital city of Kogi State (Lokoja) to Abuja FCT (seat of power & capital of Nigeria). There are numerous interesting features in the park e.g convex - tower shaped terminal building, lawn & fountain, etc. The park will handle 60 million passengers per year (2015 figure), a high potential for people-mover and this is attributable to the “hub-like & no-frills” concept design and advent of purpose-built passenger buses. It in another term has a capacity of 10450 passengers per hour, served by 425 18-seater buses, 20 luxurious buses and 40 30-seater coaster buses stands. The project was designed (May - October 2014) and the ongoing construction being supervised by Precision Technologies Consultants Limited (PTCL) as Lead Consultant of the Project Team and Project Manager.

The infrastructural components of the 9.5 hectares mega park project are operation (or terminal) building, ATM cash point, fire station building, canteen, clinic, gate/security houses, fuel dumps, auto mechanic workshop, bigger mechanical workshop, workshop administrative building, quadrangle lock-up shops, parking pavement, refuse house, public convenience, water headwork, plant house, drivers lounge, bus & taxi terminal stands, filling / service station, police building, wash bay, warehouse, national union of road transport workers’ (nurtw) office building, asphaltic road, street / security lights & furniture, power substation and masonry perimeter fence.

The Kogi State Government of Nigeria through Ministry of Transport commissioned a consortium led by Precision Technologies Consultants Limited (PTCL) Lagos Nigeria (as Planning, Transport, Civil & Management Consultants) for the 7 months consultancy services for the “Planning, Detailed Engineering Design and Construction Supervision / Management of Kogi Ultra Modern Motor Park Infrastructural Facilities Development”. The facility will accommodate 425 18-seater HIACE buses, 20 luxurious buses, 100 cars / taxis and 40 coaster buses.
