The threat posed and the degradation caused by the flood and erosion in the Felele area of Lokoja - the capital city of Kogi State is going to be effectively addressed by this project. The clusters of houses at the vast downstream area of the town are worse hit by the menace towards the mountain bounded stream into which the fast-running body of stormwater erodes. The visible crafts of this menace are deep gullies, collapsed slopes, dangerous cracks in earth hills, vulnerability of surcharges, collapsed roadways, flooding of houses & compounds, loss of buildable land lots, farmland destruction, economy downturn and infrastructure development restriction.
