Project Information

The BRT No 3 Tributary Route Project which runs from Iyana Ipaja to Maryland via Mobolaji Bank Anthony way & Jibowu to Inner Marina Lagos via Yaba - Oyingbo/Iddo - Eko bridge route was co-designed and construction solely supervised by Precision Technologies Consultants Limited (PTCL) from October 2009 to January 2011 (16months). This is a feeder project which collects and discharges to two of the major traffic routes in Lagos Metropolis namely Iyana Ipaja to Ikotun Igando axis & Mile 12 to CMS via Ikorodu road BRT Route. This project ultimately birth another corridor of the five identified major corridors in Lagos i.e Mile 12 - Fadeyi - Jibowu - Yaba - Oyingbo - Iddo - Marina (inner) via Eko Bridge (and vice versa) with injection at Maryland.

LAMATA officially commissioned Precision Technologies Consultants Limited (PTCL) Lagos Nigeria for the 12 months World Bank financed consultancy services for the “Detailed Engineering Design Review and Construction Supervision / Management of BRT Tributary Route Infrastructural Facilities”. The facilities included Highway Concrete Segregation Barriers; 40no Bus Stations; 2nos Major Bus Terminals @ Yaba and Oyingbo; Kerb/Curb Painting, Road Marking & Traffic Signages and; Stormwater Drainage System.

The project provides quality, accessible and affordable mass transport system for the residents of Lagos State. It is a combination of priority (at a section) and bilateral (other other section) operation type of BRT system. The system moves about 790,000 passengers (pax) per week-day on the Mile 12 – CMS Lagos Island corridor with some feeder routes and 36,000 pax per hour at its busiest sections.
